We are glad to inform you that under the terms of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak republic we are opening the first English nursery school in Banska Bystrica from 2nd September 2011.

SPEAK STAR, as we named our nursery school, is a preschool facility established by its mother institution - SPEAK Language School. We have been working in the field of education for more than 10 years. Our decision to establish a nursery school emerged from the requests of our clients that we have been cooperating with in the field of teaching foreign languages to preschool-aged children for three years.
The name SPEAK STAR originated in the idea that to us every child is a human being that is extraordinary, always in different ways. All of them are little stars to us, we consider them to be all STARS. In our nursery school there is no place for discrimination.
We are a family-type nursery school that focuses on and is known for its individual approach to every child. The location and premises of our nursery school are aimed at creation of friendly and creative atmosphere while our nursery school's equipment is adjusted to children of different ages and fileds of interest.
Our main priority and obligation is to respect your child's individual needs. We will pay attention to the self-fulfillment of your children during the educational process. This will be the responsibility of the language teachers from Slovakia and abroad who we have been choosing for you for a long time. Choosing the right people is the alpha and omega of reaching success.
Moreover we are particularly careful in choosing appropriate colleagues, whom we will prepare different kinds of playgroups with, e. g. dancing, singing and drawing. Our expert staff will have the responsibility for their selection. We will choose the best language teachers whose talent and exceptionality will be followed by your children with pleasure.
Our main aim is to make your children speak Slovak and English fluently. You will notice that after they leave our nursery school they will be able to get ahead of their mates in the level of speaking English.
Well, frankly said, nowadays English is really necessary. Our children will be taught Slovak and English at the same time and what is more important, in a natural way, not by making them cramming songs and poems. On the contrary, we will develop you children's skills using a concept that usually works in bilingual families in Slovakia.
It works at home, it has always been working in our language school and will be working in the only facility of this kind in Banska Bystrica from now on. We are talking about a system in which we will teach our children to speak English to one part of our teaching staff and Slovak to the other one. Furthermore at some parts of the day they will be focusing only on one of the above mentioned languages to master the natural communication in both of them. In a spontaneous way we will stimulate them to continually extend their vocabulary as in a family where there is an English father and a Slovak mother. So as to be able to speak Slovak and English fluently after they leave our nursery school for the obligatory school attendance in the age of six.
We want to focus on raising preschool children in a complex way who will be prepared in terms of motoric skills, communication and socialization in order to enter the elementary schools in Banska Bystrica. We have been working hard on building up contacts with the directors of elementary schools who will enrol our potential graduates to their own school. We will recommend only those schools to parents that will be able to create classes with our graduates and to continue in our system and at the same time their level of English (and of their first-year pupils) will be far exceeding that of beginners. Those schools that will further develop our concept. This is what we will struggle for in our town. On behalf of the educational system and you.
